Travel Opportunities

Experience other cultures first-hand and bring your knowledge and understanding back to Estrella Mountain through International Education travel opportunities. Integrate your discoveries into
your work and enrich your experiences with students, co-workers, and community members.

In addition to the above travel opportunities, you can also apply for an International Fellowship, for which professional development grants are available.

Whether you travel independently or take a fellowship, all participants are required to present an overview of their travels and experiences upon their return to the EMCC community.

Fellowship Details:

China: four-week exchange program
Mexico: four-week exchange program
Australia: four-week exchange program

IMPORTANT:

The Estrella Mountain Community College International Committee will pay half of the total cost associated with these fellowships. However, you are required to host or find accommodation for your
counterpart when he or she visits the United States. 

Prepaid travel is available if notice is given
at least six weeks in advance.

Eligibility

All Governing Board approved employees and EMCC Adjunct Faculty are eligible to apply.

A detailed proposal must be submitted to the  International Education Committee by the following deadlines:

Fall Travel and Events:

Travel and events between October 1st, 2005 and
January 14th, 2006.

Proposals due to Betty Vickrey or Terri Propes
by 5:00 PM, September 26, 2005. 

Spring and Summer I Travel and Events:

Travel and events between January 15th and June 30th, 2006:

Proposals due to Betty Vickrey or Terri Propes
by 5:00 PM, November 28, 2005. 

Summer II Travel and Events:

Travel and events between July 1st and September 30th, 2006:

Proposals due to Betty Vickrey or Terri Propes
by 5:00 PM, April 28th, 2006.
