EMCC Degrees and Certificates
Maricopa Transfer Degree Pathways
These degrees/pathways transfer as a block without loss of credit to Arizona's public universities. All semester credits used to satisfy the MCCCD pathways will apply to university graduation requirements of the university major for which the degree was designed.
Associate in Transfer Partnership [ATP] Degrees
The Maricopa County Community College District Associate in Transfer Partnership (ATP) degree is designed to meet the needs of the Maricopa Community College students transferring to public and private colleges and universities. This degree is developed specifically for students who have an identified major and have selected the baccalaureate degree-granting institution to which they intend to transfer. EMCC participates in the following ATP degrees:
Associate in General Studies Degree: The degree is recommended for students whose educational goals require flexibility. The AGS allows students to choose any elective courses numbered 100 and above to complete the degree. Therefore, this degree may be less appropriate for students who intend to transfer to a baccalaureate-granting institution.
Associate in Applied Science Degrees and Certificates
AAS degrees are designed to assist the student in developing technical skills to prepare to enter the workforce in a chosen occupation. AAS degrees may be transferred to a university in specific degree plans designed for this purpose (typically Bachelor of Applied Science degrees) but may have limited transferability to most baccalaureate degrees. Certificates of completion (CCL) are recommended for students who wish to gain a depth of technical expertise by completing a career & technical program without completing general studies requirements.
NOTE: the checksheets below are for the most current version of the program.
