What is EASIS+?

EASIS+ is a beta version of our new SIS system.

Beta versions of software are work-in-progress test copies released prior to the full version. They're used to put the product through real-world tests and to uncover bugs before the finished software is released.   EASIS+ releases have been tested internally by the project team but not by the colleges.

How often do you release EASIS+?

We make every effort to release EASIS+ once a month.  The frequency of releases after March/April may change slightly once the system setup is completed. We anticipate the February/March releases to be driven by the needs of the training team.

What is released with each version of EASIS+?

The following information is made available with every release of EASIS+:

Scope document – These are the release notes for the current version.    It contains a high-level view of all system processes that are part of this release, all the conversions that are part of the release, all the modifications that are part of the release and additional information on other functionality made available with the release (Crystal Enterprise, WLA, Security etc…). The name of this document will change in future releases to ‘release notes’.  It will contain a chronological list of systems processes and functionality added with every release.

Scenarios  - This is a list of activities by functional area that colleges can use to exercise some of the functionality in EASIS+.  Future releases will highlight new scenarios meant to exercise new system processes since the last release of EASIS+

System Processes – This is an Excel spreadsheet containing all the system processes in SIS that are part of the current release and have been verified by the internal team.  A navigation path to every single process is included along with the functional segment a process belongs to.

WLA – This is the SIS online help.  The SIS team is constantly updating WLA.  WLA materials are posted to EASIS+ as they are developed and they are not bound to EASIS+ releases.

System Modifications List – This document contains a list of all the modifications that are part of the current release of EASIS+

Where can I find information on EASIS?

EASIS+ information can be found in the SIS website at http://www.maricopa.edu/nss

Navigate to the training and click on ‘Training Material’

How do I log into EASIS+ ?

You can log in to EASIS+ by going to the following URL: http://www.maricopa.edu/nss/links
This URL also contains links to Crystal Enterprise, Portal, Peoplebooks and the feedback link.

How can I help with EASIS+?

EASIS+ is being made available for the colleges to test system functionality and provide the SIS Team feedback on what works and what doesn’t.   Here are a few approaches a college can use to help test the system:

  • Use the scenarios provided with every release of EASIS+ to exercise the system
  • Use the exercises (procedures) provided in the online help (WLA) to exercise the system
  • Read the WLA materials and understand all the field definitions

Review data in the new SIS screens and compare it to the data in Legacy SIS that you are familiar with.  Look for issues with format, length of data elements, wrong values converted, wrong values in drop down lists etc…

Use the training guides located in the SIS website under ‘Training -> Training Materials -> Training Guides.  Use EASIS+ to run through the step-by-step exercises that are included with the training guides.

Report any problems with EASIS+ by sending an e-mail to dl-student-nssfeedback@memo.maricopa.edu

In the future testing templates will be made available to gather information.

How does the WLA look like and where can I find it?

Here is a screenshot of the WLA.  To access WLA you will need to navigate to a page in EASIS+ (i.e. Bio Demo Data page) and click on help.
