Course Overview: Solar PV Boot Camp training is a comprehensive program that introduces participants to the fundamentals of solar energy and photovoltaics. The instructor will combine lecture-based training with laboratory activities to introduce students to mechanical systems and processes, electricity design, and installation techniques. This five-day course includes bonus instruction in site survey and pre-planning, system configurations, mechanical and electrical integration, permitting and inspection, connecting to the utility grid, and the business and economics of solar.

Audience: Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Production Workers; Manufacturers, Builders, Inspectors, Installers, and individuals interested in solar installation & solar business.

Benefits: The solar industry continues to be a growing field because of its various power uses including space heating and cooling, water distillation, day lighting, hot water, thermal energy for cooking, and more. Solar energy electricity generation has more than tripled between 2000 and 2008.

Job Outlook: The greatest number of renewable energy jobs is generated in solar photovoltaics and concentrating solar power sectors. According to the American Solar Energy Society and Management Information Services, renewable energy accounts for more than 9 million jobs and $1045 billion in revenue for the United States.
