Time Management is extremely important to your success. To be successful in this course you must plan your time very carefully. Each unit of work has a due date to help you manage your time effectively. You are responsible for choosing your own times to work on this course. It is best to work a minimum of three hours per credit hour each week. Take this into consideration if you are registered for more than one course.

For example:

A 16 week course might demand the following:

  1 Credit Course = 1 credit x 3 hours = 3 hours per week minimum

  3 Credit Course = 3 credits x 3 hours = 9 hours per week minimum

  Four  3 Credit Courses = 3 courses x 12 credits x 3 hours = 36 hours per week minimum

A 4 - 5 week course (Winter Express or Summer sessions) will demand longer periods of time:

  1 Credit Course = 1 credit x 12 hours = 12 hours per week minimum

  3 Credit Course = 3 credits x 12 hours = 36 hours per week minimum

Setting aside adequate time for your course is the first step to success.

Use this Day Planner to Create Your Personal Calendar. Along with class time and your work schedule, always include commute time to and from school or work and personal or family time. If you cannot find adequate time to dedicate to your course work, you should think about reducing the amount of courses you plan on taking.
