Biography

It has been my honor to serve for the past seven years as Chapter Faculty Advisor for Beta Alpha Xi - EMCC's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society for Two-Year Colleges. Assisting me in that role is the Honors Program/Phi Theta Kappa Assistant Felipa Ortiz whose office is adjacent to the Chapter Office. Felipa can also assist students with questions or concerns about Phi Theta Kappa (see Contact Us).

My greatest pleasure is helping student scholars develop into stronger, more capable leaders who engage in their communities and make a positive difference in the world. Phi Theta Kappa experiences bring many rewards to student members as they pursue their higher education goals. Recognition, fellowship with others who share similar goals, enjoying learning experiences that make our campus and community a better place - these benefits and more are waiting for every Phi Theta Kappa member.
