Awards for Excellence
This spring Estrella Mountain, Glendale and Rio Salado Community Colleges will co-hosts the Awards for Excellence dinner and fundraiser to honor individuals and organizations for their contributions to the community and to help raise money for student scholarships.
The winners will be recognized at the Awards for Excellence Dinner this spring, date has not yet been determined.
Student Advocate Award
The Student Advocate Award recognizes a faculty or staff member for outstanding support to a student, or group of students, through an achievement or activity that fosters a pathway for student success.
EMCC Recipients:
Alex Andrews – 2009 Student Advocate Award
Jason Martinez – 2010 Student Advocate Award
Marylyn Bradley - 2011 Student Advocate Award
Outstanding Alumni Award
The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes an EMCC alumnus who has distinguished themselves by contributions they have made in their field of endeavor, by the leadership they have exhibited and by the general benefits to the community resulting from their activities. Alumni are defined as all persons who hold degrees, diplomas, certificates, AND persons having attended Estrella Mountain Community College that have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours are eligible for regular membership.

Lieutenant Cuauhtémoc “Memo” Espinoza – 2010 Outstanding Alumni Award
Mark Brown - 2011 Outstanding Alumni Award
Award for Excellence Nomination Forms are located at the top right corner under downloads. Call for nominations will be sent out January 2012. Please send the nominations to estrella.president@estrellamountain.edu. The recipients will be selected by a committee of peers and the previous year’s winners.
