Step 4: Placement Testing
Placement testing is located in the Komatke Hall B. Student must arrive on time, bring photo identification, and have the Student Information Form filled out and turned in prior to testing.
Testing is required for:
- Students enrolling an English, mathematics, or a reading course, or a course for which English, mathematics, or reading is a prerequisite.
- Degree seeking students.
- Financial aid recipients.
- Students whose primary language is not English.
Placement Testing Schedule
Course placement testing takes approximately three hours. Please be on time.

Students should complete a review test prior to assessment. Review tests are available online at the following links:
- Practice ASSET tests (Writing, Reading and Mathematical Skills)
Use the online review exercises to select the right math test for your background and to get an idea how you might score on the official placement tests. These online reviews are timed and scored to simulate the testing environment.
