HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION
Admission is an easy process with the following steps!
Fall Enrollment (August to December) – application and required documents due prior to July 1st.
Spring Enrollment (January to May) - application and required documents due prior to November1st.
Summer Enrollment (June to July) - Opportunities to start classes during the summer are also available.
Please send:
1. A COMPLETED INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATION (Adobe Acrobat version; PDF)
2. PROOF OF GRADUATION FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL
3. Certified copies of official diploma or certificate from each secondary school (high school), college or university, and/or technical school you have attended (translated into English). Spanish language documents do not need to be translated.
4. EVIDENCE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: (waived for students whose native language is English)
a. Admission to Academic Programs Applicants who wish to enroll in an academic program at the college must present evidence of English language proficiency. If the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is used to satisfy this requirement, the applicant must attain a score of at least 500 (on the traditional TOEFL), 173 (on the computer based test) or 61 on the internet based TOEFL known as iBT.
b. If the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is used to satisfy this requirement, an IELTS overall Band Score of 5.5 or better is required, and a minimum IELTS individual Band Score of 5.0 in EACH module is recommended.
c. The dean or director of admission and records of the college may accept other proof of English language proficiency for admission purposes, such as the Estella Mountain Community College’s ASSET test, COMPASS or CELSA tests.
d. Please note: Regardless of TOEFL or IELTS scores, all new students are required to take placements tests upon arrival at Estrella Mountain Community College
5. EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
a. Have your sponsor complete the Statement of Financial Support, which states that they have at least $17,300.00 U.S. dollars per year, and are willing to use this money to pay for your academic and living expenses while you are attending Estrella Mountain Community College.
b. IMPORTANT: The sponsor MUST also include an ORIGINAL bank statement or ORIGINAL letter from the bank showing that the sponsor has sufficient funds on deposit. Faxes, photocopies and internet printouts will not be accepted. Evidence of financial support will be required prior for issuance of the I-20 form.
c. The college has no scholarship or financial aid provisions for international students; therefore, students must be fully prepared to meet the necessary financial obligations for the entire time they will be in the United States.
d. The college estimates the student's average costs for 12 months to be:
e. Tuition and Fees: $6,800 (full-time enrollment is required for F-1 students) Living Expenses $8,700, Other (books and health insurance*): $1,800 TOTAL: $17,300**
f. * Health Insurance: All F-1 students who have an I-20 issued by Estrella Mountain Community College must purchase the approved health insurance plan. The plan currently in use is administered by the Renaissance Agencies, Inc. and underwritten by Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company. ** Please note all fees are subject to change without notice. These figures are estimates only and are based on a 12 month calendar.
6. If you currently attend school in the United States, you must also submit the following documents:
a. Official transcripts from your current or previous schools.
b. SEVIS Transfer Form completed by your current or last international student advisor
c. Photocopy of your I-94 card
d. Photocopy of your visa
e. Photocopy of your passport

Admission confirmation:
After we have received all of the documents, we will consider your application for admission. If you are accepted, you will be sent a letter of acceptance, including the SEVIS I-20 form which will enable you to obtain the F-1 Student Visa at the US Consulate in your home country, instructions on payment of the $100.00 SEVIS fee, and a list of instructions on preparing for the US Consulate interview. If you are not accepted, you will be notified with an explanation.
