Special Admissions
How does Special Admissions help you?
- Earn college credits while still attending junior high school or high school
- In some cases, college credit can transfer back to the junior high school or high school to use towards graduation
- Establishes an official college transcript that may be submitted to any college or university or used toward a community college degree or certificate
How can I participate as a Special Admission Student?
- Complete Student Information Form click here to access form
Placement Test-Student must take at least two placement tests and score into ENG101 and/or CRE101 and if they are taking a math class, must score into that Math Class.
- Choose classes. Concurrent enrollment students are generally limited to 6 credits.
- Junior High School or High School Official must sign Special Admission Form certifying that they will or will not provide Jr. High/High School credit for the course and that the student would benefit from enrollment in the courses listed on the form.
- At least one parent must sign the form. thereby providing permission for the student to enroll in the courses and certifying that they understand that the student will be establishing an official college academic record and that the student is subject to all of the rules, policies, and regulations listed in the College Catalog and Schedule of Classes. They also sign that they will be responsible for fee payment.
- The student signs the form giving permission to release any and all information to their parents/legal guardian.
- The student and the parent must then speak with a Student Services Manager.
Important information to know about Special Admissions
- All grades earned will be part of the official college permanent academic record.
- Course/Class content will not be changed in any way regardless of a special admission student in the classroom.
- Expectations for student behavior are outlined in the Catalog, Schedule, and Handbook.
