Every summer Estrella Mountain partners with a local arts organization, the West Valley Arts Council to host a job education and training program for West Valley youth. Teens, age 15-18, spend 6-weeks on campus creating a public art project that is placed within the West Valley region. The students encounter real life situations in working with their clients and collaborate with city planners, engineers, architects, design artists and local businesses. These apprentices earn dollars and college credit as many learn for the first time about the career opportunities open to them as creative artists.
