Library Instruction Request
Full time faculty and adjunct instructors at EMCC are welcome to schedule Library Instruction sessions for your classes. The Library offers several types of Instruction sessions. Here is a sampling:
- General Library Instruction:
This session covers basic Library navigation, using the library catalog and becoming familiar with the databases.
- Database Instruction:
This session can either be general in nature or geared to a specific subject
area. If your class has a current assignment, please let us know so we can
tailor our instructor to your assignment.
- Navigating the World Wide Web:
This session provides instruction on using search engines and web directories, choosing good search terms and evaluating web sites for validity.
- Citations:
A librarian will provide citation Instruction in either MLA or APA format
A few important points:
- Instruction sessions generally last about 50 minutes.
- We can design a session specifically for your subject area. Some subject areas we have covered in the past include:
