Estrella Mountain Community College

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) welcomes you to the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program.  We are pleased to be the most recently approved site to provide the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program (MCCDNP) to our local communities. 

EMCC is one of nine Maricopa County Community College District (MCCDNP) colleges that currently offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing.  Graduates of this nursing program are eligible to take the national licensing examination (NCLEX-RN), through the Arizona Board of Nursing, to become licensed registered nurses. 

At this time, the program at Estrella Mountain provides students who have completed a Practical Nursing Program and are Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and have taken the required prerequisites the opportunity for “advance placement” into the MCCDNP at Block 3 and progressing to  Block 4.  At this time EMCC is not providing Blocks 1 and 2 of the Maricopa Program and Advanced Placement (Blocks 3 and 4) is the entry point into the program at Estrella Mountain Community College. 

The Nursing Program at EMCC is designed to be completed in 2 consecutive semesters.  The estimated cost to complete the in-state two semester “advanced placement” program is approximately $2,700.
