Entry Requirements
In order to become a student in the Culinary Studies Program (A.A.S. and CCL's), students must complete the
following process:
- Enroll in the college and meet with the Student Specialist for Culinary Studies. Define your goals with the advisor as to what you are seeking within the program: AAS Degree, Certificate of Completion, Baking and Pastry, and/or transfer to a four year institution.
- Program pre-requisites require the completion of the following courses with a "C" or better: ENG091, RDG091, and MAT 090, 091or 092,
or placement into higher level English, Reading, and Math courses
or equivalent by assessment. - Student must complete an entry application for Culinary Studies and return it to Juanita Parra, Student Specialist for Culinary Studies in admissions.
- Student must schedule an interview with the program director after culinary application has been submitted.
- Student will be contacted by the program staff to schedule an interview after official applications are received.
- Interviews take place throughout the semester, and are scheduled around the director's teaching schedule.
- The purpose of the interview is to provide an opportunity for the student to gain a better understanding of what is expected of them while attending culinary classes. They will be given a tour of the facilities and are encouraged to ask questions that concern their education and future career.
