Initial Steps for Admission

This can be done online anytime from anywhere!  Go to my.maricopa.edu and click on New Student? Start Here.  (Already a Maricopa County Community College District student, click on Student Center.)  Follow instructions provided to obtain your Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID) and password.  (New students who do not wish to use their social security number must complete a Student Information Form

through Enrollment Services in person or via phone at 623-935-8888 to receive a confirmation number for online set up).

Locate Student ID Number

This number is different from your MEID.

  • In the Student Center, under Personal Information, click on Demographic Data.
  • Make a note of the Student ID number which will be needed for all campus services.

Activate Your Official Maricopa Student Email Account

In your Student Center, click on the Official Student E-mail button.

  • Enter your MEID.
  • Enter your Password.
  • Review the "disclaimer and terms of use" and click "accept terms."
  • Click Login.

All official college communications will be sent to your official student e-mail.

To help you to be successful in college from the start, placement testing is required of all new students.  Bring an official Photo ID and your college student ID number to your testing session.  Please allow 1.5-2 hours to complete all tests.  Placement testing at EMCC is FREE.  For times and days to test, go to Testing Services.

Attend Information Session

Ready, set, go to the next Information Session.   Have you reserved a seat by calling 623-535-2700?  If you didn't get steps 1 and 2 done prior to attending an Information Session that is okay.  Staff will be on hand to guide you through those two steps.  At the information session, the SouthWest Skill Center staff will also assist students in understanding and completing the admission packet.
