Manufacturing, Distribution and Energy

Manufacturing careers include occupations from all aspects of industry – from the idea for a new or improved product to its design and testing processes, execution of production processes, quality control, and final delivery to the customer.  Included are entry-level through more technical and professional manufacturing occupations.

Automation technology encompasses a variety of automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, process control, and product distribution systems that use programmable controls and other methodologies to accomplish system management.  Skills are needed to define, integrate, install, program, and maintain these complex control systems.

Arizona is home to three of the top 100 largest power plants in the United States and ranks third in the number of green energy jobs.  Nuclear and alternative energy industries are growing, and are important to our local economic development efforts as well as Arizona’s overall economic health. Companies from around the world are looking at Arizona to create centers for new solutions in clean and reliable energy.

EMCC and the Power Plant Technology program are part of the Arizona Sun Corridor Consortium, leading the national initiative known as "Get Into Energy."
