USA FUNDS Access to Education Scholarship
Plan to enroll or are enrolled in full- or half-time undergraduate or full-time graduate or professional degree coursework at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. Have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less, as documented on a 2009 federal 1040 income tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption. Are U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens

SRP Ethnic Minority Scholarship
To be eligible for the SRP Ethnic-Minority Scholarship, applicants must be members of an under-represented minority group and Arizona residents who will be full-time students (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) at accredited colleges and university-level educational institutions.
Recipients must have, and maintain, a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to students enrolled in degree programs related to SRP's business interests. Current SRP employees are not eligible to apply. Recipients must be legally authorized to live and work in the U.S

The goal of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to college-bound, undocumented, Latino students. We seek to support undocumented students that have met the rigorous academic requirements asked of them and hold the academic promise to achieve so much more.

  ASU scholarships for Asian American and Pacific Islander students
The Y. F. Wu Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Scholarship recognizes APA
students who demonstrate academic excellence combined with leadership and service.
In 2009, 29 scholarships were awarded which ranged from book awards (on average $500)
to awards that covered tuition for a year (approximately $6300). The Y.F. Wu Scholarship is
administered by the Asian Pacific American Studies Program at Arizona State University.

The Orphan Foundation of America
Applicants must...
Have been in foster care for one consecutive year at the time of their 18th birthday OR have been adopted or taken into legal guardianship out of foster care or upon the death of their parents after their 16th birthday OR have lost both parents to death before the age of 18 and not been subsequently adopted or taken into legal guardianship. Be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited post-secondary program at the undergraduate level (university, college, community college or vocational/technical institute.) Be under the age of 25 on March 31, 2010. Have been in foster care or orphaned while living in the United States. U.S. citizenship is not required.

New! Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program, 2010
Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants, a management and marketing consulting firm, is pleased to continue their scholarship program for the fourth year. Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution who are between 16 and 30 years of age. To apply, applicants must write and submit a 500 to 1000 word essay answering the following question: What do you see as the long term impact of our current recession on the average family? How might it affect their future decisions?. Essay submissions must be sent by email to: scholarships@abbottandfenner.com.   AES Engineering
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Rotary International TRVFA (The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona)
A one-time grant for up to $3,000 is available to students pursuing training toward vocational certification. To be considered for a grant, applicants must:

  • Meet certain financial conditions
  • Seek training in a qualifying vocational area
  • Be a legal resident of the state of Arizona
  • Be at a school in Arizona
  • Be sponsored by a Rotary Club in Arizona or Needles, California

Grants given by TRVFA are intended to help someone gain certification in a vocational field. This can include a nursing certificate, training in auto mechanics, body repair, construction technology, welding, cosmetology, an EMT course, computer/electronics technician, medical aide, gunsmith, educational aide, police/fire science and other similar fields. Grants are not intended for four-year degree seeking students or community college students seeking a four-year degree. For more information, please visit the TRVFA website.

Available to any college/university/trade school student who graduated from Alhambra Elementary School District. The Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Programs

Eligibility Requirements –Students must…

  • Be Hispanic
  • Maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Reside in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • Be a current or rising undergraduate (some programs accept graduate students) or a high school senior
    enrolling at a college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico

Grant Programs Offered Through the Arizona Commission for Post Secondary Education (ACPE)

   

  • Arizona College Access Aid Program (ACAAP)
    A grant program designed to assist college sophomore, junior or senior students who are Arizona residents with substantial financial need who are seeking an associate or baccalaureate degree. Students must be Pell Grant eligible and enrolled at least half-time in a baccalaureate program.

 Arizona National Livestock Show Scholarship
Arizona National Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate college and university students who have demonstrated an interest in agriculture. Preference is given to Arizona residents, but out-of-state students may apply. Students must meet the following requirements:

  • High school graduate
  • Currently enrolled at a college or university taking at least 12 hours
  • Completion of 12 semester hours prior to applying
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Participate in the Arizona National Livestock Show

Internship and Fellowship Opportunities

 

 

 

 

 

Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships
This program places students in paid internships in Science and Engineering at any of several Department of Energy facilities. Many of the participants in the program have decided on a career in science and engineering because of the nature of the experience. Students work with scientists or engineers on projects related to the laboratories' research programs. Each laboratory offers different research opportunities (see Choosing a Lab).

The summer programs at the various laboratories will run from late May to mid-August, fall programs run from August through December and spring programs from January through May. The exact start date will depend on the laboratory and will be given to participants who have been accepted at that specific laboratory. Students are required to participate for the full term of the program.

   
   
   

 

United States Department of Energy Student Parnership Program
The 2008 Minority Educational Institution Student Partnership Program offers talented undergraduate and graduate students summer internship positions with the U.S. Department of Energy and its national laboratories. Positions involve scientific research or a focus on policy, business, and government relations. All internships include paid lodging, round trip airfare, and monetary compensation.

As program participants, students receive an intensive 8-week assignment to "jump-start" their careers and develop their potential for future opportunities within the federal government. Students work side-by-side with leading scientists, engineers, and other top professionals to develop professional skills and enhance leadership capabilities.

   
   
   

 

Office of Science Community College Institute 
This program places students from community colleges in paid internships in Science, Engineering and Technology at any of several different locations. Because of the comprehensive nature of this program, many of the participants felt the experience has had an enormous influence on their careers. Students work with scientists or engineers on projects related to the laboratories' research programs. They also attend career planning and numerous training/informational sessions. The different laboratories each offer different research opportunities (see Choosing a Lab).  The CCI only runs during the summer term.

The Program looks at all ways in which people may differ from one another, but in so doing, emphasizes the importance of inclusiveness and
