Karen Grizzaffi, fulltime Math Faculty, has lived in Arizona since 2001. Previously she resided in New York and Florida. She has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Education. Her passions (besides teaching math1) included traveling with her husband and taking long walks with her Golden Retrievers.
Karen believes in the power and beauty of mathematics, and hopes that developing Service Learning opportunities in math will help her students feel the same way. She engaged her Education majors in various Service Learning projects during the Spring 2003 semester. Students created math games and teacher resources that are now available off this website under "student web pages"
In May, 2003, Karen co-presented with Dr. Roselyn Turner at the Campus Compact conference in Scottsdale on creative methods of Service Learning, and their conference paper was published online and in the ERIC database. |
