Estrella Mountain Community College provides free tutoring for students enrolled in any course at EMCC, including online and hybrid courses. Our goal is to enhance students' ability to learn, apply knowledge and to think critically. We are committed to assisting students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their coursework and in their academic, professional, and personal pursuits.
Learning Support Services hosts a wide variety of programs to enhance student success. Peer tutoring, disability services, and Supplemental Instruction are among the programs provided that are available to all students. Our tutors are dedicated to working with students in a supportive, collaborative learning environment.
The Learning Enhancement and Writing center (LEC), located on the first floor of Estrella hall, offers drop-in and appointment-based tutoring in English, Reading, English as a Second Language (ESL), Business & Occupational courses and other academic areas.
The NASA Center for Success in Math & Science, located in Montezuma 122, offers drop-in tutoring in any math or science course.
Online tutoring for online and hybrid courses is available through Smarthinking from your Blackboard course. Smarthinking provides up to 24/7 online support depending on the subject. For essay critiquing please use Online Writing Center paper submission. Additional online support is available through the EMCC Help Email. Please send your questions at: help@estrellamountain.edu. This summer you will get an answer back within 24hrs M-Th 7:30am-8pm.
