External Scholarships

AAIA-Association on American Indian Affairs

AAIA is a national non-profit organization which works on policy and grass roots initiatives in the area of youth/education, cultural preservation, and sovereignty.  AAIA has 8 scholarship programs for undergraduate and graduate students from federally recognized tribes and tribes that are not recognized by the federal government.

  • Application Student Information Form with all required fields completed. Please print clearly. If we cannot read your writing, we may not be able to contact you and have to move on to another student.
  • Proof of Tribal Enrollment - All applicants must be enrolled in their tribe. In the case of Alaska tribes only, if proof of tribal enrollment is available, that is preferred. If not, Alaska Native Corporate documents are acceptable (BQ requirements still apply). For Navajo students, the copy of your green CIB is also your tribal enrollment.
  • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) for students from federally recognized tribes showing at least ¼ Indian blood. (A separate CIB is not needed if your blood quantum is listed on your tribal enrollment.)
  • Proof of Indian blood for students from non-recognized tribes -Due to tribal status the 1/4 blood quantum requirement can be waived for this scholarship only. A CIB is requested if available. If a CIB is not available, a copy of your parent and grandparent's enrollment cards are acceptable, or a letter from your tribal chairman noting a history of family enrollment/participation and copy of family tree are acceptable. If these documents are not available, please call our Rockville office to discuss your situation.
  • Student Essay - Please include life experiences, such as military, faith, family, employment, sports, clubs, participation in your Native community, other tribal/cultural related activities, educational & post graduate goals, plans to give back to the Native community and any other information as applicable.
    Essays should be three pages (maximum) in length and legible.
    (12 point Times New Roman or Arial, no less than 1/2 inch margins,
    1-1/2 space is preferred).
  • Additional information will be requested only from students who make the initial cut after review of all applications. Final selections will be made upon review of the additional documentation. Request for this information does not guarantee receipt of award.

AES Engineers Scholarship

AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.  Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.

Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to the following question:

What are your dreams for your future? When you look back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?

There is no application packet for this award. Please do not include your resume at this time.
Be sure to include your full name as well as the name of the school you are attending this year and your plans for next year.

Alhambra Foundation for the Future

Available to any college/university/trade school studentwho graduated from Alhambra Elementary School District. Selections are based on application essays, financial need, GPA/class rank, teacher recommendations and college entrance exam scores. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000. American Muslim Women's Association

American Muslim Women’s Association is pleased to announce ONE scholarship for Fall 2012, which will be renewed for Spring 2013 depending upon satisfactory performance (grade point average). This scholarship, which is offered in any field of study, has been established to recognize the academic achievements of full time female undergraduate students at Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU.  All eligible female students are encouraged to apply irrespective of their nationality, ethnic, or religious background.

Arizona Community Foundation

No matter how you plan to continue learning, more than $1 million in scholarship awards are made available each year to Arizona students for all fields of study from ACF's scholarship funds. Some awards are based on merit or financial need, while others are focused on students within a specific geographic location or demographic group. Complete one online application and be automatically matched to all scholarship awards for which you qualify.

High school seniors, current college students, or graduate-level students attending schools anywhere in the U.S. can apply. Scholarship awards are available for two-year, four-year, and technical schools. Students should apply early to qualify for the most awards. Some application periods close in February, and some remain open until as late as May.

Arizona National Livestock Show Scholarship

Arizona National Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate college and university students who have demonstrated an interest in agriculture. Preference is given to Arizona residents, but out-of-state students may apply. Students must meet the following requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Currently enrolled at a college or university taking at least 12 hours
  • Completion of 12 semester hours prior to applying
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Participate in the Arizona National Livestock Show

B. Davis Scholarship

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

  • There is no age restriction
  • Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next
  • This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.

    Please do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation at this time.

    CEO of Tomorrow Scholarship

    The CEO of Tomorrow Scholarship essay contest is open only to those legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of submission and who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or who will be enrolled by November 1, 2013. Current employees, officers, directors and agents of Sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to be awarded this scholarship. Void where prohibited.

    First Things First’s Navajo Nation Regional Partnership Council Child Care Scholarship

    Designed to assist college students with their child care expenses while parents are working or going to school.

    • Permanent resident of the Navajo Nation
    • Living off tribal lands to attend school
    • Have a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level (currently $44,200 for a family of four)
    • Have a child or children between the ages of birth and age 5 (and not yet in kindergarten)
    • Eligible children are served in a regulated or licensed child care home or center
