Graduation Recognition
One of the benefits of Phi Theta Kappa membership is being recognized for academic excellence at annual college commence ceremonies held at the end of each spring semester. Members in good standing may call attention to their academic success by wearing Phi Theta Kappa graduation regalia with their caps and gowns.
All graduation regalia are ordered from Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters through its online Phi Theta Kappa Store (www.recognitions.ptk.org). Member graduates are authorized to wear the gold honors stole, blue/gold double honors cord, and gold hat tassel. All items are at the member’s expense and should be ordered no later than the end of April to assure delivery in time for our May 11 graduation ceremony. Extra shipping costs may apply for last-minute orders. No local supplies are available for purchase. Other regalia-related items may be available for purchase, but are not approved for wearing at Estrella Mountain Community College graduation ceremonies.
As of 4/23/12, all loaner regalia sets have already been reserved for use by other Spring 2012 graduating members. No further loaner sets are available at this time. Please see ordering information above if you wish to wear regalia for EMCC's May 11 graduation ceremony. If cost is an issue, members who wish to wear regalia may elect to wear only the gold stole and hat tassel; the honors cord may be omitted.
A limited number of regalia sets are available in the Chapter Office for loan to students who have difficulty purchasing their own sets, but still want to celebrate their membership. Loaner sets are available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last and must be returned to the Chapter Office in the week following the graduation ceremony. Contact the Chapter Advisor for further information if interested.
