Maricopa Student Refund Program - MSRP

The fastest and easiest way to get your financial aid disbursments and tuition and fee refunds! 


You now have the choice to receive your refunds to an existing bank account via electronic funds transfer (EFT) or to a personalized Visa® prepaid debit card issued by Citi® through the MSRP! This great new program is intended to give students faster and more convenient access to their financial aid disbursements and tuition and fee refunds. 


MSRP Student Options:

Visa Prepaid Debit Card

  • Student receives a Visa debit card and all refunds are loaded to the card
  • You can make purchases anywhere Visa debit is accepted in store, online or by phone
  • Deposits are posted to Visa debt card a day after award is disbursed to Student Account*
  • No delay while waiting for the mail
  • No bank account required or trip to the bank to cash a check
  • Surcharge-free cash withdrawals at over 170 Citibank® ATMs in Maricopa County, including on-campus
  • Coverage by Visa’s Zero Liability fraud protection * in the event your card is ever lost or stolen
  • Free online account management 
  • Flexible, convenient and safe access to your funds

*Visa’s Zero Liability policy covers U.S.-issued cards only and does not apply to ATM transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa, or certain commercial card transactions. Cardholder must notify issuer promptly of any unauthorized use. For additional details visit www.visa.com/security

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

  • Student receive an electronic funds transfer to their checking or savings account
  • Deposits are posted to checking or savings account a day after award is disbursed to Student Account*
  • No delay while waiting for the mail
  • Free online account management 
  • Flexible, convenient and safe access to your funds

Paper Check

  • Free online account management
  • Checks will take 7-10 days to receive
  • Check is mailed to address in Student Center

Signing up is easy!

  • Students will be sent an email to their student issued Google email notifying them it is time to enroll.  Check your Gmail™ account for your invitation from Citi to enroll
  • Click on the link to go to the Citi enrollment website
  • Make your selection – choose either prepaid card, EFT or paper check
  • Make sure your mailing address on record in the Student Center is correct. This is the address that will be used if you choose a prepaid debit card or a paper check for payment

Financial Aid Disbursements

  1. Student will receive an email to their student issued Google email notifying them that it is time to enroll or status of their refund. 
  2. Student selects refund option of either Prepaid Visa, EFT or paper check.
  3. If no refund option is selected, student will receive paper check mailed to student address in Student Center.
  4. Refund option will apply to all financial aid disbursments.

Tuition and Fee Refunds

Students who are due a refund and have a credit balance will be processed as follows:

Cash Payments: Payments made by cash will be refunded through MSRP based on the student's selection.

  1. Student will receive an email to their student issued Google email concerning their refund.
  2. Student selects refund option of either Prepaid Visa, EFT or paper check.
  3. If no refund option is selected, student will receive paper check mailed to student address in Student Center.

 Check Payments: Payments made by checks are subject to a 10-business day processing period and will be refunded through MSRP based on the student's selection. 

  1. Student will receive an email to their student issued Google email concerning their refund.
  2. Student selects refund option of either Prepaid Visa, EFT or paper check.
  3. If no refund option is selected, student will receive paper check mailed to student address in Student Center.

Who do I call if I have questions about my refund?

If you have questions about your refund, you can view your student account at my.maricopa.edu for additional information. If your refund has been posted to your student account, you should contact Citi Prepaid Customer Service at 1-888-561-1829 or help@citiprepaid.com for information about the refund.
