Meatless Monday at the EMCC Grill

Meatless Monday is a movement with a mission that encourages individuals to cut out meat, one day a week. It is better for your health, your wallet and our planet! Chartwells at the EMCC Grill will be serving vegetarian specials to promote food, economic and health sustainability. Support our planet and eat "green" at the Grill!

Veterans Can Recycling Drive

EMCC Veterans Committee will have aluminum can recycling bins placed around campus to promote sustainability. Funds raised from recycling aluminum will benefit student scholarships! Recycling drive will be on-going.

Maricopa Green Paper Reduction Pledge

What will you do to reduce daily paper usage? Take the Chancellor’s challenge to reduce your paper use by 10 percent. Pledge by dropping by the Sustainability table in the Komatke Courtyard. EMCC is just a few signatures behind GCC in leading the district in pledges, so encourage coworkers and students to sign up!

E-Waste Recycling Drive

Join local Tolleson nonprofit OCM Recycle West for an E-Waste Recycling Drive to benefit EMCC student scholarships! OCM will be collecting electronic items for recycling, and they will donate a portion funds raised back to us! Accepted items include computers and computer equipment, printers, phones, wires, cables, etc. Anything with a plug and more! Donated items must be personal property only. College property will not be accepted.

Hosted by EMCC Sustainability Team and the Honors Program, this nationally recognized presentation founded by Al Gore will bring the facts about the climate crisis into focus, so that we can all engage in meaningful conversations about how to solve it. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.

Sustainability Team is hosting a dumpster dive, a chance for students to support recycling efforts and sustainability on campus, while experiencing first hand just how “eco-friendly” EMCC is when it comes to recycling! Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate.
