What will you do to reduce daily paper usage?

Starting October 26, in coordination with Campus Sustainability Day, the Maricopa Community Colleges will pledge to reduce paper usage on a daily basis. 

In the video to the right, Chancellor Glasper discusses his goal for students, faculty and employees to reduce paper usage by 10%.

Ways to Reduce Paper Consumption

Employees
  • Do not print course syllabi.  Post on Blackboard instead.
  • Do not print course documents and materials.  Post to Blackboard.
  • Create online tests and assignments for students instead of paper tests and assignments.
  • Do not print emails.  Save emails in archive folders for future reference.
  • Create electronic forms using word and pdf.
  • Do not print meeting agendas, minutes or documents.  Post to sharepoint site instead.
  • Choose back to back printing as your default printing for things that MUST be printed.
  • Resuse one-sided paper for scratch paper.  Donate it to the NASA Center and Library.
Students
  • Do not print course syllabi. Read from Blackboard instead.
  • Print PowerPoint lectures in notes style instead of slide style.
  • Use computers and laptops to type class notes instead of using notebooks.
  • Choose back to back printing as your default printing for things that MUST be printed.
  • Resuse one-sided paper for scratch paper.
