 Culinary Camp 2008

Culinary Camp is a summer program offered through a partnership between Estrella Mountain Community College and Western Maricopa Tech Prep Consortium.  It is designed to introduce students to the food service industry and serves students from west valley high schools that are part of the consortium.  High school juniors, seniors, or recent graduates, with an interest in culinary studies, are encouraged to apply.  Camp participants will enroll in a two credit college course, Menu Planning, which can be used toward a culinary studies degree or as an elective in other degrees.  The camp culminates with the production of a luncheon buffet attended by high school and college educators, as well as community members.

Two camps will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday at the Estrella Mountain campus.  The first camp will begin June 2, 2008 and end June 12th and the second camp will begin June 16th and end June 26th.  All culinary camp participants agree to:

·         Submit completed application, signed by parent or guardian

·         Provide documentation of residency status

·         Provide own transportation to and from campus

·         Attend Parent/Student Orientation on May 28th at 6:00 p.m.

Interested students and parents are required to complete and submit the application as soon as possible, as each camp is limited to a maximum of 18 participants.
