To Begin Testing:
If you are 18 years of age or older you will need
Two forms of identification:
- A current state issued I.D. with photo and one other form of acceptable I.D. (See list below)
- Must not be attending high school or be currently home schooled.

Three forms of identification:
- State issued I.D. with photo
- Birth Certificate
- And any one of the acceptable documents listed on the bottom of this sheet.
- Notarized letter from parent or guardian giving permission to test.
- Formal withdraw from last school of attendance, if home schooled please see GED examiner.
General Information
- You must be 16 years of age or older
- Applicants can retest three times per subject in a year. (Initial test counted in the first year.)
- For applicants starting after January 01, 2002 retesting and completion time is unlimited.
- Test results will be mailed and normally arrive approximately in 2.5 - 3 weeks.
- Passing scores require a total of 2250
i. Average score of 450 and
ii. Minimum of 410
All three requirements must be met in order to receive the GED diploma.

Outdated identification or identification suspected of being forged will not be accepted.Identification suspected of being forged will be reported to the authorities.
When a GED examiner has reasonable doubts concerning the validity of a candidate’s identification, they have the right to question that candidate and to withhold the candidates admission and testing until such time as any questions have been answered and doubts resolved.

- Letters from foreign government consulates
