Our Online Writing Center in Blackboard offers electronic paper critiquing for papers for any Estrella Mountain class.  When you use this service, a trained writing tutor will read your paper, highlight areas of concern, make suggestions for improving your writing, and return your writing to you electronically.  You can then incorporate the tutor's suggestions as you continue to rewrite.  You are encouraged to combine this online service with the Writing Center's face-to-face tutoring services if you also want in-person help working on your writing assignment.

Using the Online Writing Center is simple.  Most students will be able to access the OWC through their Blackboard menu—it will show up as Online Writing Center.  If this does not appear on your Blackboard menu, call (623) 935-8150 and give us your name; we will add you to the Online Writing Center immediately.

To send a paper to the Online Writing Center, simply click on the Online Writing Center in Blackboard and follow the directions there.  Then, in 24 to 48 hours (longer on weekends, holiday, and peak-usage times like before midterms or finals), you’ll receive a critiqued paper in your Online Writing Center digital dropbox.
