Fall 2021 COVID Protocols

Stay safe

Detailed below is an email message sent to all currently enrolled Estrella Mountain Community College students on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Dear Mountain Lions,

We are excited to welcome you back to campus for the Fall 2021 semester! We have been diligently working to increase our on-campus footprint while continuing to offer a robust online option for students who want or need more flexibility.

Our top priority is to provide a safe learning environment where students can achieve their academic goals. As a result, we have been continuously monitoring the data related to COVID-19. Given the high transmission rate of the Delta variant, the following measures are being implemented to help mitigate the spread of the virus and maximize wellness.

EMCC, in line with all 10 Colleges in the Maricopa Community College District (MCCCD), will now require that all individuals wear masks or facial coverings upon entering our college buildings. Because this requirement applies to all individuals regardless of vaccination status, it is in line with both the Governor’s Executive Order (2021-15) and Arizona Revised Statutes 15-1650.05.

As a way to help protect our collective communities, we strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated. Beginning August 21, 2021, vaccination clinics will be held at EMCC and each of the Maricopa Community College campuses for students, their friends, and families. As an added incentive, students receiving the vaccine at an MCCCD campus will receive a $50 grocery gift card (while supplies last). Please continue checking your maricopa.edu email, our website, and social media for more details about our upcoming vaccination clinics and instructions on eligibility for the $50 grocery gift card.

We will continue to monitor the evolving mask and face-covering guidelines and update the EMCC community of any changes as we move into the fall semester. If you would like more information about our updated mask policy, please visit together.maricopa.edu for more details.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
