Welcome to the Estrella Mountain Community College Division of Learning. The Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs administers all areas of instruction, including faculty and curriculum. This division provides much of the academic support vital to the success of our students in their academic pursuits at EMCC and beyond.
EMCC's new Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Manuel Gomez, is a first generation college graduate who has been empowered by education and is dedicated to creating access and excellence in higher education.
His teams work to transform the learning experience to serve students from all backgrounds and to meet the needs of their communities.
He works to promote a safe and welcoming learning environment, in the conviction that learning fosters the strengths of diversity and the bonds of society. Dr. Gomez believes diversity leads to creativity, innovation, and the competitiveness necessary to foster individual and institutional excellence and that every person – student, faculty, and staff – is made better when they are able to share in the contributions of diverse communities.
