Honors

B) Presidents' Scholarship

Awarded to recent high school graduates who are U.S. citizens or legal residents who have not previously attended an accredited university.  This scholarship runs for four consecutive Fall and Spring semesters.  Students graduating from high school have a two-semester window of opportunity to apply for the Presidents' Scholarship.  For example, students graduating from high school in May 2017 are eligible to apply for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters.

In order to receive this scholarship each semester, Presidents' Scholars will need to be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits at all times (100+ level, letter-grade courses), maintain a 3.25 MCCCD-cumulative GPA or higher each semester, complete 1 Honors Only Cohort or Honors Project each semester and attend 2 Honors Co-Curricular events each semester.  After attending each Co-Curricular event, Presidents' Scholars will be required to write a reflective summary of 500-750 words.  All requirements will be submitted into Canvas.

Presidents' Scholarship Does Not Cover:

  • Expenses for pass/fail courses (Exception: Required, degree-specific pass/fail courses are within scholarship guidelines)
  • Tuition for summer session
  • Class fees
  • Books

Contact the Honors Office for more details.

The Honors Program will not award you scholarship reimbursement if any of the above requirements are not met.
