Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)
EMCC has established a team of professional to help address disruptive, distressing, disturbing and dysregulated behaviors on campus.
EMCC BIT Vision Statement:
The EMCC Behavioral Intervention Team is a caring interdisciplinary team who works together in a collaborative professional manner to address safety concerns through the coordination of resources and early intervention in order to provide the EMCC community with a safe and secure learning environment.
BIT Team Purpose
- Create a process for reporting, evaluation, documenting and responding to distressed, disruptive, disturbing or dysregulated behaviors.
- Educate the campus on the procedures for interventions and referrals
- Evaluate, document, and respond to unwanted behaviors that affect the educational environment on campus.
BIT Team Membership
The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) consists of EMCC faculty and staff from across the college community.
BIT Team Referrals
When making a referral to the BIT Team use the Student Disruption Referral Form and identify the “Nature of this Report” as “Student Misconduct” and the “Urgency of this Report” as “Information Only – No action required.”
