The MIRA tool is a new way of looking at risk on campus. When applying for a fee waiver, or planning events on campus, this tool may be required for file when circumstances exist based on risk being defined as "The opportunities, uncertainties, threats, or barriers to which MCCCD must respond in order to achieve its objectives."
The purpose of the tool is to define when MCCCD risk management should be consulted before proceeding with an event. The end result should either be reduction of risk impact to acceptable levels, or cancellation of the event.
When required according the Fee Waiver Overview document, please have your VP initial the quadrant of page 2 of the MIRA Self Assessment Tool that applies to the level of risk involved with your particular event and send to the Business Office at EMC (see Contact Us box at left).
