A  Helpdesk Request will need to be submitted at least 24 hours prior with the time, date, room and instructor name.  The I.T. staff will enter the reservation into a shared public calendar that we utilize on Google Calendar..

A technician will deliver the cart to the scheduled room and hand over the keys to assigned instructor.  Upon request from the instructor, the technician can stay to ensure that the laptops area connected to the network and they are working properly.  Please allow at least 15 minutes prior to class start time for the cart to be delivered.  The actual distribution of the laptops to the students should be done by the instructor.. 

A technician will report back to the classroom at the end of the scheduled class or at a time designated by the instructor.  Prior to pick up, the instructor will return all laptops to the cart and reconnect them to the chargers.  The cart must never be left unattended.  If a technician is not available, the cart must be locked up by the instructor will take the keys back to I.T. after notifying the Helpdesk.  

Keys should never be left out or given to the next instructor.  It is the responsibility of the requesting instructor to be sure all equipment is accounted for.

The technician will perform an inventory of the cart before and after the scheduled class and ask the instructor to initial the bottom portion of this form to verify that all items have been accounted for before and after class.

If you would like to make an appointment before your scheduled reservation to become more familiar with the cart, please call the Helpdesk at 58999.  We will be glad to review some basic functions of the cart with you..

  • You may encounter a network slowdown if all laptops are trying to access one website at the same time.
  • When shutting down the laptop, please ask students to wait for the computer screen to go dark before closing the cover. This will prevent the laptop from going into the suspend mode.
  • External mice are delivered with the cart and can be used by plugging the mouse into the available USB port on the back of the laptop.
