October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! National disability employment awareness month is intended to both recognize the contributions of people with disabilities to the workplace and greater economy and bring further awareness to the need for equal employment opportunities for all Americans.

Ability Maricopa will be hosting a panel discussion entitled "Real Talk: Dispelling Myths and Bias Around Employing or Being Employed with a Disability" on October 19 th at noon. Panel members, consisting of faculty and staff with disabilities as well as some of their managers, will share their experiences working with a disability or managing an employee with a disability within Maricopa. The goal of this discussion is twofold: to remove preconceived notions that surround the employment of people with disabilities and to highlight the benefits that can come with employing people with disabilities.
