Convocation Information

Due to our response to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel our in-person convocation ceremonies. However, EMCC is looking for ways to celebrate your hard work, sacrifices, and accomplishments!

We encourage you to meet with your advisors virtually to continue applying for graduation. Please check this page for updates regarding 2020 convocations!

Celebrate Student Diversity

All Maricopa Community Colleges graduates, their friends and families, and all employees are invited to participate in any of the Convocation activities.

What Are Cultural Convocations?

Maricopa has a proud tradition of offering students the opportunity to celebrate graduation through culturally focused Convocations. These smaller, more intimate events are cultural celebrations that affirm our students and reach out to families and friends in a meaningful way. The following convocations are traditionally hosted by Maricopa Community Colleges each year:

  • Veterans Convocation
  • LGBTQ+ Convocation
  • American Indian Convocation
  • Asian Pacific Islander Convocation
  • Hispanic Convocation
  • African American Convocation
