Cybersecurity at EMCC
Our Cybersecurity program provides students with the technical skills they need for a rewarding career in information technology. And because EMCC is a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense, Two-Year Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, we can offer a unique set of career-focused resources.
The Cybersecurity program includes:
- IT and Power Systems Security Associate in Applied Science (AAS)
- IT Security Associate Certificate of Completion (CCL)
Classes are taught by instructors who currently work within the industry, using the latest technology, sharing their personal knowledge and experience to prepare you to work in this very diverse industry that blends business and technology.
Core courses include fundamental knowledge and skills in system administration, network administration, IT management and compliance necessary to inform the practices of IT security. Additionally, the program includes tracks to train technicians for IT Security employment in other industries with tracks in Network Security, Power Systems and IT Security, Systems Security-Linux, and Systems Security-Microsoft. Each track provides training toward industry certifications. In some tracks, it is possible to complete other comparable IT programs simultaneously.
When you enroll in an Information Technology program, you become part of the Networking Technologies Institute at EMCC, which helps students succeed by offering educational networks, scholarships, internships and other professional opportunities within their selected field of study.
