Calendar of Events
Aa student of EMCC’s Nursing program, you’ll want to be aware of some critical dates - not just for exams and projects but orientations and graduation Here’s what you need to know:
Every student needs to attend the new student orientation. This event is designed to inform incoming students about the EMCC campus, available resources, faculty and staff expectations, opportunities offered, and the importance of identifying their personal and educational goals.
When you enroll, you become part of the Nursing Institute. The Institute orientation is your opportunity to connect with faculty, staff and other students. You’ll hear about resources just for your program as well as be able to connect with a variety of EMCC’s healthcare partners for future internships, scholarships or career opportunities.
Finally, when you’re ready, you’ll want to keep an eye open for EMCC’s graduation deadlines in order to fully celebrate your big day.

Background Check Requirements
For all nursing students who seek to begin MaricopaNursing on or after September 1, 2011, new background check standards will be in effect. Additionally, students who have been admitted to MaricopaNursing or who are currently enrolled in one as of September 1, 2011 will be required to sign an MCCCD Criminal Background Check Disclosure Acknowledgment form. These changes are necessary due to the fact that six of eleven of MCCCD's largest clinical experience hospital partners have established stringent background check standards that preclude MaricopaNursing from assigning students to those sites who cannot meet those standards. In order for MaricopaNursing students to be able to continue to complete clinical experiences at local hospitals, students must meet these new standards. READ MORE.
