Creating Persistent Links to Gale Articles

  1. Start by using InfoTrac to locate the article you want. Once you are at the article page, look toward the upper left for a yellow star Gale bookmark graphic labeled BOOKMARK. Click on this to open a new page with a new URL and this is the URL you want to use to create your link. The Bookmark URL will look similar to:

    http://find.galegroup.com/itx/infomark.do?contentSet=IAC-Documents&docType=IAC&type=retrieve&tabID=T002&prodId=ITOF&docId=A83678484&userGroupName=mccweb_estm&version=1.0&searchType=BasicSearchForm&source=gale

  2. As shown, the Bookmark URL will only work from anywhere on-campus. To make it work both on-campus and off-campus, you need to put:

    http://libproxy.estrellamountainedu/login?url=

in front of the Bookmark URL, resulting in a persistent URL similar to:

    http://libproxy.estrellamountain.edu/login?url=http://find.galegroup.com/itx/infomark.do?contentSet=IAC-Documents&docType=IAC&type=retrieve&tabID=T002&prodId=ITOF&docId=A83678484&userGroupName=mccweb_estm&version=1.0&searchType=BasicSearchForm&source=gale
