Automation is already a popular manufacturing process, but with advances in artificial intelligence and remote communication, businesses need highly trained experts in automation technologies. In fact, there are more than 179,000 manufacturing jobs in the state of Arizona, with several companies looking to hire right here in the West Valley!
EMCC's new Automated Industrial Technology (AIT) program will give you what you need to take advantage of this manufacturing trend. Through our program, you will learn the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical systems and robotics and automation, as well as the basics of fluid power, motor controls and programmable logic controls (PLC), pneumatics and hydraulics. We currently offer an Associate in Applied Science in Automated Industrial Technology, and classes start Fall 2020.
The AIT program prepares students to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of automated electromechanical, product assembly, process control, and product distribution systems that use programmable controls and other methodologies to accomplish system management. These systems include robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic devices. Through this program, graduates will gain the skills to define, integrate, install, program, and maintain complex control systems.
And AIT courses are designed to prepare students for the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification exams.
When you enroll in the AIT program at EMCC, you become part of the Energy Institute, which helps students succeed by offering educational networks, scholarships, internships, and other professional opportunities within their selected field of study.
