Maricopa Emergency Management System Alert

FALL 2020 SEMESTER AND COVID-19 UPDATE: The EMCC campus is open to EMCC employees, students attending on-campus classes, or those with an appointment. All student support services are available online. Students are encouraged to contact their instructors for additional information.

Poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, “Music is the universal language of mankind.” As such, the study of music fosters an understanding of global perspectives and historical events in students.  As students study music theory, music history, music education or applied music for performance they broaden both their appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures, history and the progress of the human spirit.

Career and Employment Outlook

A two-year degree at EMCC with an emphasis in Music prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges/universities that offer further education needed to enter vocations such as music education, music therapy, sacred music and professional music performance.
