A secondary education teaching certificate allows the holder to teach in Arizona grades 7-12. It is accompanied by an endorsement which names the content area(s) that the holder is qualified to teach such as English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, etc.
Why Secondary Education @EMCC?
Education courses offered at EMCC cover a broad supporting base for a secondary education career. They include field placements that provide students with hands-on experiences in secondary classrooms of their chosen subject area.
This program is part of the Teacher Education Institute at EMCC, which helps students succeed by offering educational networks and professional opportunities within their selected field(s) of study.
The Associate in Arts Degree (AA) is for students interested in teaching 7th or 8th grade or at the high school level. This degree transfers as a block to any of Arizona’s state universities as well as private institutions.
