The City of Surprise Applied Technology Scholarship Program
The City of Surprise is partnering with Estrella Mountain Community College to offer scholarships to students in eight high-demand applied technology areas of study. Students in any of the following programs can apply for the scholarship through the Maricopa Community Colleges Scholarship Manager Portal. Students should select “Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation General Scholarship Application” and qualified students will be notified.
Qualified Areas of Study for City of Surprise Applied Technology Scholarship Program:
Automated Industrial Technology I
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Automated Industrial Technology I prepares students to troubleshoot, maintain and repair a variety of automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, and product distribution systems that use other methodologies to accomplish system management.
Automated Industrial Technology II
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Automated Industrial Technology II prepares students to troubleshoot, maintain and repair a variety of automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, process control, and product distribution systems that use programmable controls and other methodologies to accomplish system management.
Electrical Systems Technology
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Electrical Systems Technology program curriculum is designed to provide training for persons interested in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems found in commercial and industrial facilities.
Mechanical Systems Technology
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Mechanical Systems Technology program curriculum is designed to provide training for persons interested in the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems found in commercial and industrial facilities.
Robotics Technology
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Robotics Technology prepares students for the field of robotics operations, applications, programming, and Automation System Integration. The program emphasizes knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot, program, repair, operate and work safely with robots.
Semiconductor Technician Quickstart Program
The Semiconductor Technician Quick Start is an intense, 10-day program designed to prepare you for an entry-level technician job in a semiconductor, or microchip, manufacturing facility. The Quick Start runs every two weeks through the summer of 2023. Students who complete the program will receive a Semiconductor Technician, Level 1 certificate and three college credits.
