This annual International community celebration is designed to highlight the African American culture and heritage in the City of Avondale and communities in southwestern Maricopa county. This year's theme, "Making Dreams a Reality" will honor the legacies of Motown through live music and dance. Performances by local and nationally known artists will include a special tribute to the late Etta James and to the legacy members of the local African American community. Event also features ethnic food booths, ethnic and hip hop clothing, and information and awareness booths will be on site. The event is free and open to the public.
