Apply for Graduation

Students that have met or will meet their certificate or degree requirements in Fall 2009, Spring 2010 or Summer, 2010 may apply for graduation at this time. Students must apply for graduation to have their degree or certificate officially awarded on their college transcript.

Below is the process for Applying for Graduation:

1. Set up appointment with EMCC Academic Advisor located in Komatke Hall to review and sign application.  Appointments can be set up by calling 623.935.8821.
2. Complete Graduation Application
3. Give completed application to Enrollment Services.

Graduation Application Deadlines:

• Fall Graduates – November – First Friday
• Spring Graduates – April – First Friday
• Summer Graduates – April – First Friday

Note: Applications for Spring Graduates received after deadline will not be printed in the Commencement Ceremony Program.

How to participate in Commencement Ceremony:

Students wishing to participate in commencement need to complete the following:

• Apply for Graduation – follow steps listed above
• Complete Graduate Survey
• Pay Commencement Fee – pay $25.00 fee to Enrollment Services
• Pick Up Cap, Gown & Announcements
  • Available from Enrollment Services
  • Students will receive 5 announcements with cap & gown. Extra announcements are $0.50 each
• Complete Participation Card
  • Participation Cards are available from Enrollment Services or Download here.
  • Participation Cards are due to Enrollment Services by TBA.

Rehearsal: No rehearsal prior to commencement.

Check In: Participating graduates must check in the Montezuma Hall Southeast Patio (near the NASA Center) by TBA.  This area has no place for storing personal items, please leave items with family and friends.

Reception: EMCC will be hosting a reception immediately following the ceremony.  We encourage graduates, family, and friends to join us in Regions in Komatke C Building.

Photographs: Professional photographers will be taking pictures of the graduates and certificate recipients on Friday, May 14 2010 during the commencement ceremony.  These photographs will be available for purchase from Grad Images.

Diplomas: Participation in the commencement ceremony does not certify graduation or completion of a certificate.  Degree and Certificates recipients who participate in the ceremony will receive only an award cover at the ceremony. Diplomas and certificates will be available for pick up in Enrollment Services by the end of July 2010.

Phi Theta Kappa: If you are a member of EMCC's Beta Alpha Xi chapter or Phi Theta Kappa, information on ordering special graduation regalia is available online: http://www.ptk.org/recognitions/catalog/09/graduation

ADA Accommodations: If you or one of your guests has need for a sign language interpreter or alternative print format, please call Ramona Santiesteban at 623.935.8935 no later than May 3, 2010.
