Equity in Athletics Report—Estrella Mountain Community College

I. Enrollment

In the prior academic year, the college enrolled 595 full-time male students and 851 full-time female students. Of these students, 8 male students were participants on at least one intercollegiate athletic team, and 5 female students were participants on at least one intercollegiate athletic team. 

II. Expenses

The amount of total expenses for all teams was $230,364. Of this amount, the amount of expenses incurred for Men’s Golf was $18,818. The amount of expenses incurred for Men’s Cross Country was $16,024. The amount of expenses generated from Women’s Cross Country was $16,176. The amount not allocated by sport was $179,346.

III. Sports

On the Men’s Golf team, there were 3 participants. The total operating expenses were $10,423. The head coach is a man, and serves as a part-time employee. Additionally, there was one assistant coach for this sport. On the Men’s Cross Country team, there were 4 participants. The total operating expenses were $8,109. The head coach is a male, part-time employee.  On the Women’s Cross Country team, there were 5 participants. The total operating expenses were $7,036.  The head coach is a male, part-time employee.

IV: Student Aid

The college spent a total amount of $6,500 on athletically related student aid, including the value of waivers. Of this amount, $2,925 was spent on aid for men’s teams and $3,575 was spent on aid for women’s teams. 

V. Recruiting

The college spent a total amount of $0 on recruiting. Of this amount, $0 was spent on recruiting for men’s teams and $0 was spent on recruiting for women’s teams. 

VI. Salaries

The average salary of head coaches for men’s teams was $6346. The average salary of head coaches for women’s teams was $5,553. 

VII. Revenues

The amount of total revenues generated for all teams was $54,603. Of this amount, the amount of revenues generated for men’s teams was $38,466 and the amount of revenues generated for women’s teams was $16,137. The amount generated that was not allocated by sport was $188,825.
