It’s official: Estrella Mountain Community College’s commencement venue has been confirmed! This is a very exciting time as students receive the degrees and certificates they have worked so hard to earn. Please join us to celebrate your academic achievement by attending the 26th Annual Estrella Mountain Community College Commencement Ceremony at Camelback Ranch - Glendale on Friday, May 13, 2022.
Commencement Ceremony Details and Participation
Attire: Graduate participants are required to wear purple regalia.

Parking: Students and staff will be directed to park in the Third Base entrance. Guest parking is restricted to the Home Plate lot. Visit https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cHkfy8MUMkMuUEc9HHJ2wopnMrr1B2fh/view for a map and additional details.
Rehearsal: There is no rehearsal before the ceremony.
Tickets: The ceremony is not a ticketed event. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.
Graduate Check-In: Participating graduates* must check in at the designated area by passing through the Third Base Gate entrance and proceeding to the left. Check-in will begin at 5:00 PM. All graduates must be checked-in by 6:15 PM, or you may not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. Participating students must wear EMCC regalia.
Personal Items: This area has no place for storing personal items. Please leave items with family and friends. Due to limited space, only participating graduates will be allowed in the graduate check-in area. Photographs: Professional photographers will be taking pictures of all commencement participants on Friday, May 13, 2022, during the commencement ceremony. These photographs will be available for purchase from Grad Images.
ADA Accommodations: If you or one of your guests has need for an alternative print format or other accommodations, please call Pam Grady at 623-935-8935 no later than April 22, 2022.
The ceremony will be outdoors, and you will be standing and walking before and during the ceremony; comfortable footwear is recommended. We strongly discourage wearing heels. Some walking areas are soft, and heels may get stuck in the ground.
Concession stands will be open for guests to purchase light refreshments.

*Participation in the commencement ceremony DOES NOT certify graduation or completion of a certificate and/or degree. Certificate and/or degree recipients who participate in the ceremony will receive a diploma cover at the ceremony. For Spring and Summer 2022 graduates, please allow until the end of August to receive your diploma in the mail.
Join us for Grad Fest!
Bring your mortarboard to the Estrella Conference Center, and decorate for free! There are two dates for you to choose from:
- Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Alumni Association Shirts and Hats will be available for purchase for $20 at the graduation ceremony May 13th;
Do you plan to participate in the graduation ceremony?
If you are, there are two easy things you need to do right away:
You can purchase your regalia this year and have it sent right to your doorstep! Visit https://www.buildagrad.com/estrellamountain to place your regalia order. Orders placed after April 10, 2022, are not guaranteed to ship before the ceremony. Please note that EMCC does not have any regalia inventory to accommodate late orders. Don't delay, place your order ASAP!
Please let us know if you plan to participate in the commencement ceremony by completing the Commencement Ceremony Participation Form. Your feedback will assist us in finalizing details for the big day.
Maricopa has a proud tradition of offering students the opportunity to celebrate graduation through culturally focused Convocations. These smaller, more intimate events are cultural celebrations that affirm our students and reach out to families and friends in a meaningful way. The following convocations are traditionally hosted by Maricopa Community Colleges each year:

It's not too late to apply for graduation!
Whether you have been working toward a degree or a certificate, the first step in the graduation process is to apply for graduation. Please note, the deadline to RSVP to participate in the commencement ceremony has passed. However, students wanting to receive a certificate or degree MUST apply for graduation.
Steps to Apply
Step 1: Prepare Your Application
a. Complete the Exit Survey and print the confirmation
b. Print the Graduation Application
c. If you haven’t already done so, submit your official transcripts from other schools to Admissions, Records & Registration
Step 2: Connect with Your Advisor
Your advisor will complete your graduation application with you. As you both work through the application, your advisor will:
a. Review the graduation requirements for your respective catalog year
b. Complete a check sheet for each program you are applying for
c. Assist with selecting the final classes required for your graduation
d. Your advisor will submit the completed graduation application to Admissions & Records.
