Microsoft Datacenter Academy

The Microsoft Datacenter Academy is a workforce development program in which Microsoft supports Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) and Glendale Community College (GCC) programs that train students for skills and certifications to enable students to gain employment in the growing cloud computing and IT sectors. EMCC and GCC offer various certificate of completion (CCL) and associate of applied science (AAS) degree programs in computer and information technology that are part of a partnership with Microsoft, creating the Microsoft Datacenter Academy.

Programs prepare students to sit for critical industry certifications that are important in the IT industry. EMCC and GCC have nationally recognized faculty that develop and respond to industry needs by updating and developing programs to prepare learners to enter the workforce in companies such as Microsoft.

Get hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art computer lab. Receive career mentorship directly from Microsoft professionals.

The Microsoft Datacenter Academy recognizes the CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+ and Security+ as baseline certifications for IT skills development, along with  CCNA and MCSE certifications.  EMCC and GCC’s information technology programs prepare students for these professional certifications.  

Students will have opportunities to interview for work experience programs within a Microsoft Datacenter. Work experience programs will expose students to an array of datacenter work areas from logistics to inventory management to hardware maintenance.

Students will also be given custom tours of the local Microsoft datacenters, in-class lectures by Microsoft Datacenter staff, hands-on labs and Q&A panels. Students will receive assistance in resume building, interview preparation, building an impactful LinkedIn profile and establishing a Microsoft Careers account and alerts for open job notifications.
