Vet Fun Run

Join us for the 12th Annual West Valley Veterans Day Ceremony and 5K/1-mile Run/Walk
November 11, 2025 | Estrella Mountain Community College

In partnership with the City of Avondale, Estrella Mountain Community College will host the 12th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Run on November 11, 2025. This special event honors our veterans and supports student veterans who face financial challenges in pursuing higher education.

For the first time, we will be offering a timed 5K as well as a timed 1-mile run.  Placements will be awarded for the 5K Run.   

Proceeds from the Vet Run will benefit the Dr. Ernest Lara – EMCC Veterans Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to student veterans at EMCC.

The City of Avondale’s Police and Fire Departments will also be on-site, offering interactive and family-friendly activities for all attendees. Come run, honor, and support those who have served!

Packet pickup dates will be provided.

All net proceeds will directly support Dr. Ernest Lara- EMCC Veterans Scholarship Fund. This program is designed to assist veterans in financial situations that may prevent them from going to school or completing a degree.
