Mariposa Literary Review

"I only ask to be free. The butterflies are free." -Charles Dickens

The first flight of the butterfly may be among the smallest. It is not a jet engine, it is not the wide wingspan of the California Condor. The first flight of the butterfly is small, from leaf to branch, from the eaves of roof to the doorpost, but the small fragility of it is no less a flight. The Mariposa Literary Review at Estrella Mountain Community College is a collection of first flights, of first stories, first lines, first photographs, a collection of the seemingly small but triumphant beat of wing and wind, developed through the attention and instruction of faculty, and the heart and artistry of its students.
