Virtual panel discussion set for April 13


AVONDALE, ARIZONA, April 5, 2021 – Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is proud to partner with Glendale Community College (GCC) and Microsoft on an exciting event geared toward women who are interested in careers in the technology field. The event, “Pathways to Technology Careers for Women,” will take place virtually from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on April 13.

“Microsoft values and puts intentional effort into increasing the diversity of professionals within the IT fields,” said Paula Livingston, Dean of Instruction and Occupational Education at EMCC. “Increasing the female presence in the IT fields is also a goal for Microsoft.”

The event will feature panelists who will discuss their current positions and how they embarked on their career pathways and obstacles they overcame along the way.

Panelists include Marcy Melendez, Regional Manager L&D Global Training at Microsoft; Amy Walters, Assistant Vice President, Technology Operations at Cancer Treatment Centers of America; and Alexiss Mailloux, Security Analyst at New Genesis Solutions and EMCC Graduate
